According to an internal memo released by O2 (the exclusive iPhone service provider in the UK), stock of both the 8GB iPod Touch and iPhone have been exhausted. The device has sold successfully after recent price cuts, but has been classified as EOL (End of Life).

From O2:

Due to the highly successful sales of the Apple 8GB I-Phone [sic], supply chain have today run out of stock & will not be replenishing stock of this product as it has now gone to end of life.

With the phone selling strongly, sources speculate that the EOL status suggests a much anticipated upgrade to the device coming in June. Apple has not yet released any official information regarding an update, but rumors have been circulating in the industry for months.

iPod Observer posted a leaked image of the upcoming 3G iPhone today. It could possibly be a fake; many ‘leaked’ images are, and it looks similar to a Color Ware PC transformation of an iPhone. Regardless of the photo’s legitimacy, we hope to see the new iPhone to be released sometime in the next quarter, and nuCourse will be ready with the newest, quality accessories available.

According to a report by USA TODAY, the emergence of the Kindle has boosted the niche e-book market and general consumer awareness of e-book readers.
