Not exactly. But engadget has an image of a third-party case design by XSKN that lends some unofficial insight into what the 3G iPhone looks like. Once again, this could be a fake, the image has certainly lured an increased amount of visitors to the XSKN homepage (causing excrutiating load-times for the impatient web-surfer), but it seems to fit the rumored descriptions we’ve heard.

We aren’t currently planning on carrying any XSKN products, but we will have plenty of brand name accessories for the new iPhone at release.

According to an internal memo released by O2 (the exclusive iPhone service provider in the UK), stock of both the 8GB iPod Touch and iPhone have been exhausted. The device has sold successfully after recent price cuts, but has been classified as EOL (End of Life).

From O2:

Due to the highly successful sales of the Apple 8GB I-Phone [sic], supply chain have today run out of stock & will not be replenishing stock of this product as it has now gone to end of life.

With the phone selling strongly, sources speculate that the EOL status suggests a much anticipated upgrade to the device coming in June. Apple has not yet released any official information regarding an update, but rumors have been circulating in the industry for months.

TG Daily chimes in with pricing for the 3G iPhone; their sources expect Apple to use it’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June as a platform to announce the product. The pricing levels are expected to remain the same as current iPhone prices, with an 8GB model selling at $399, and a 16GB model at $499. iPod Observer posted a leaked image of the upcoming 3G iPhone today. It could possibly be a fake; many ‘leaked’ images are, and it looks similar to a Color Ware PC transformation of an iPhone. Regardless of the photo’s legitimacy, we hope to see the new iPhone to be released sometime in the next quarter, and nuCourse will be ready with the newest, quality accessories available.

Wednesday, American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu joined other analysts in the industry in predicting a June release of a 3G iPhone.

“Our checks with supply chain sources indicate that the iPhone is likely to undergo a product transition in the June-July timeframe, about a quarter earlier than expected,” he wrote in a research note to clients. “We had previously thought a 3G version would be available in mid- to second-half . Besides a software upgrade to version 2.0 in late June, we now believe we will likely see new hardware as well.”

Giving the analyst higher conviction is the accelerated timetable in which iPhone inventory levels have gone lean, which he said is consistent with Apple’s tendency to wind down stockpiles ahead of an update.

“We believe Steve Jobs could unveil these new iPhones at his WWDC keynote in early June,” he told clients. “In addition to a 3G version, our sources indicate that the 2.5G model could see a minor casing change and lower price point closer to $299-349 vs. its $399 price today.”

This is fitting, the iPhone is at the end of a typical Apple product life span, and a major complaint concerning the original iPhone was lack of access to the 3G network, which the majority of competing smart phones include.
